When I was about 10 years-old, my mother taught me how to iron by practicing on pillowcases. Came the percale revolution, and ironing sheets was no longer necessary. When I took these sheets out of the dryer, I was transported back to the '50s, and wondered if I should try to find my iron. It was just a fleeting thought, though.

Nowhere, not on the packaging nor on the attached label, does it say the thread count of these sheets, although the label does say 100% cotton. I would say they are 180-count, and are quite rough to the touch. I read somewhere that they were sailcloth. I believe it!

The set does come with two pillowcases, which is not mentioned in the description, and the bottom sheet will fit mattresses up to 16 inches.
