I was a bit worried after reading the reviews for these sheets and other 160 gram flannel sheets by Pinzon, where the mostly positive comments were offset by a few very critical reactions. How could one person think they were the softest sheets ever, while another person thought they felt like paper? I decided to go ahead and try them myself, and I'm happy to report that I'm very pleased with the purchase. I washed the sheets before the first use, as I do with all bedding, flannel or otherwise. I didn't notice any pilling or defects. In fact, the sheets are extremely soft. I have some flannel sheets from Eddie Bauer Home that are a little bit heavier, but these sheets are still quite warm and very comfortable.
