The taupe color is definitely darker than that of the photo, but even more beautiful than expected. I expected taupe to be somewhat bland/generic of a color, but they are quite brilliant. Due to the high thread count, the sheets actually have a slight sheen. The thickness keeps them from being super soft, but they are still wonderfully comfortable. I've had them for several months, have washed repeatedly, and they are holding up great. I'm getting ready to order another set so that I'll have these around for years to come.
