I too took the leap of faith and purchased these sheets. I figured that if they were on Amazon there would be a certain level of quality and value as I have experienced on my MANY previous purchases on Amazon. Unfortunately, these sheets were the exception. I was looking for dark purple sheets and having trouble finding some in higher thread count, so I went with these.
I have lower thread count sheets that are considerably softer. I held them up to the light and found that I could actually read a book through them - not so with my cheaper sheets. If these have higher thread count, you'd think it would be the opposite. Also, there is a lot of drag on the sheets which should not happen with sateen sheets. If I had felt the sheets first, I'd have given a price of $25-$30. These sheets were over $50 - very poor value.
I've learned my lesson - no sheets online unless I've touched them at a store first. The color is beautiful - just as shown in the picture. That's the reason I gave these sheets two stars. They won't be on my bed for long though. I'm not willing to sacrifice comfort for color. I'd highly suggest Amazon check into the integrity of the thread count on sheets offered on its site.
