600 thread count does NOT mean soft. I washed it three times to try to soften it up, but in the end, it felt really coarse against our skin. It also wasn't deep enough for the mattress. Ended up at Macy's and got what I wanted for a little more, but on sale. And deep enough to cover the mattress. Oddly enough, the 300 TC duvet cover by the same manufacturer is great and very soft.
